New Initiatives

Moving the needle on social change

Social impact is at the core of what we do. We’re continually challenging ourselves to think, learn, partner, and invest differently so that we can have the largest possible impact in community. This includes testing and piloting new and innovative approaches to everything we do, from working with our corporate partners to create social change, to building the capacity of GTA residents to lead where they live.

Building Inclusive Local Economic Opportunity

The Inclusive Local Economic Opportunity (ILEO) initiative, powered by United Way, brings together the private, public, and community sectors to find innovative ways to reduce gaps in economic prosperity in the Greater Toronto Region, and to create lasting inclusive economic vitality at the neighbourhood level.

Leading Social Justice Fellowship

The Leading Social Justice Fellowship, co-created by United Way Greater Toronto and the University of Toronto’s School of Cities, is an innovative, new leadership development pilot for individuals from the public, private, and community sectors who want to rebuild an equitable and inclusive city. It’s the next important investment we are making in building the capacity of our region and people like you to solve systemic social issues.
