Membership

Voting Members of United Way are essential to our fight against poverty in communities across Peel, Toronto and York Region. Members are invited to attend our Annual General Meeting to vote on the appointment of Trustees, auditors, and other special business, receive the annual audited financial statements, and hear reports on our work in the community.  

Show your local love for community by becoming a Member and help us build and strengthen a crucial community safety net to support people living in poverty.

Both individuals and organizations are eligible to become Members*, the rights are the same for both. If you meet the Membership qualification (one of the following: 2023 UWGT donor; OR 2023 UWGT volunteer; OR you live or work in Peel, Toronto or York Region), we invite you to apply for Membership for the April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 term. Our Board of Trustees will review and approve Memberships no later than March 31, 2024.

Our Membership application process is simple, accessible, and free. Please complete the Membership application online, or download, complete, and return a hard copy. Though there is no cost to Membership, to be considered, your application must be received by March 1, 2024.

* Organizations will need to identify a primary Membership contact. If your organization intends on becoming a Member, you may need to determine if there is an internal process to duly authorize Membership or the authority of the Membership contact to act on behalf of the organization.
